Why I love Island Dollars
There’s been a lot of speculation about ePassporte these days. I use them because I’m a US Webmaster, but I do business with a lot of British companies. My banks not only have no idea what to do with checks from the U.K., but the fees they want to charge would eat up the whole check! Anyway, ePassporte seems to be running into considerable snags lately; delayed payments, money gone missing, and so on. It’s making a lot of us nervous (I’m starting to consider withdrawing my balance daily, because I don’t feel like losing a few hundred bucks if they suddenly go all hinky on me.)
This has obviously affected Sponsor payouts. Some of my companies have paid out a day late, others a week, and most of them never said ‘boo’ to me to let me know what was going on. A few even got cross when I contacted them to follow up - not nasty but just testy.
Not Island Dollars. Not only did Marty pay me from HIS PERSONAL ACCOUNT, not once but TWICE now -and on time! - but he dropped me a note. Here’s an excerpt:

I think so many people are quick to start posting when something goes wrong, that it’s important to recognize when a sponsor treats us like professionals - with dignity, respect and professionalism. And those few quick words kept me from wondering what was going on (imagine if more sponsors took thirty seconds and sent out an email to their affiliates in these situations!) I love Island Dollars and I recommend them to you if you’re looking for a new Indian or Asian teen to promote, as their material is some of the best out there. Lots of tease, not too much sleaze so your surfer needs to buy to see the good stuff. The members areas are nice as well, with plenty of content and bonuses, like bonus iPod-compatible downloads, flash games and desktop wallpapers.
So if you’re looking for a company that treats you like a business person and not a leech, I highly recommend Island Dollars. Do keep in mind they do NOT approve all webmaster applications - but that just keeps the quality of the program higher and prevents oversaturation.
